What Is SIF
Pick a strategy
Each AMC's SIF arm offers a small set of defined strategies — Equity Long-Short, Hybrid Long-Short, or Debt Long-Short — each carrying its own mandate and risk band.
Meet the ₹10 lakh threshold
The minimum commitment is ₹10 lakh, tracked per PAN across all SIF strategies from a single AMC combined. This threshold doesn't apply if you qualify as a SEBI-accredited investor.
The strategy works both sides of the market
Unlike a typical long-only fund, a SIF can take limited short or derivative positions alongside long holdings — built to respond to both rising and falling markets, within SEBI-set limits.
You still get mutual-fund-style disclosure
Even with the added flexibility, SIFs remain inside SEBI's mutual fund framework — regular NAV publishing, portfolio disclosures, and risk labelling apply just as they do for standard schemes.
SIF strategies carry a higher risk and complexity profile than typical mutual fund schemes and are built for investors comfortable with that trade-off. Past strategy performance does not indicate future results.
